Renowned American toy brand Hasbro's Star Wars The Black Series announced the release of a new Clone Wars-themed product – the "Clone Trooper & Battle Droid" 6-inch action figure set, with a suggested retail price of US$44.99, expected to be released in July 2024!
The Clone Wars was a massive conflict that engulfed the entire galaxy, first mentioned by old Obi-Wan in the film "Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope." It was a war between the Galactic Republic and the Trade Federation and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. The film series also revealed that the entire war was orchestrated behind the scenes by Chancellor Palpatine, the Sith Lord – Darth Sidious. The war quickly concluded after a series of events including the Jedi Purge, the establishment of the Galactic Empire, and the downfall of the Confederacy, ushering in the dark era of the Galactic Empire.
This set includes action figures of the most basic troop types from the Galactic Republic and the Trade Federation – the Clone Trooper and the Battle Droid, faithfully recreating their appearances from the films. The Clone Trooper's helmet is detachable, and the head sculpt accurately captures the features of Jango Fett actor Temuera Morrison. The Battle Droid can even replicate its curled-up storage pose! With both characters sold as a set, it looks like collectors will need to acquire several sets to build armies for both sides!
