STAR ACE TOYS, a renowned brand dedicated to releasing high-quality pop culture collectibles, recently announced a new product based on the classic 80s film "Ghostbusters" – "Ray Stantz", with a suggested retail price of US$235, expected to ship in Q3-Q4 2024!
The 1984 film "Ghostbusters" will celebrate its 40th anniversary this year. Even if you haven't seen the movie, you're likely familiar with the white and red "Ecto-1" and the protagonists' ghost-busting uniforms! Ray Stantz, a founding member of the Ghostbusters, is an expert in paranormal history and metallurgy, possessing a childlike curiosity for all sorts of supernatural phenomena. Towards the end of the film, when the Ghostbusters are asked by Gozer how they wish for destruction to come, Ray unconsciously recalls the company mascot he loved as a child, the "Stay Puft Marshmallow Man", accidentally summoning that classic, adorable arch-demon!
This Ray Stantz 1/8 scale collectible statue stands approximately 22 cm tall and is made of resin, presenting Ray in his classic ghost-busting uniform from the Ghostbusters film! The delicate sculpting faithfully recreates the likeness of actor Dan Aykroyd, meticulously reproducing the details of his "proton pack" weapon and backpack. He stands in a somewhat wary and alert pose and expression on a base featuring the Ghostbusters logo stained with marshmallow, perfect for display alongside the simultaneously released Dr. Egon Spengler!
