Today (1st), the latest product from the "Figuarts ZERO" non-articulated figure brand, specifically the "EXTRA BATTLE" series, released by BANDAI SPIRITS' collector's toy division TAMASHII NATIONS in Japan, was announced: the "Minato Namikaze -Rasengan-" PVC painted figure, from "Naruto Shippuden"! It is scheduled for release in August 2024, with a suggested retail price of 9,000 JPY.
Minato Namikaze, not only served as the Fourth Hokage in the story and was known as the "Yellow Flash of the Leaf," but he is also the man who took first place in the global popularity poll and even had his own standalone manga! When his son, Naruto Uzumaki, was born, he sacrificed himself to protect Konoha Village, thwart Obito Uchiha's plot, and prevent the Nine-Tails from continuing its rampage, becoming a great hero of Konoha Village.
The Rasengan is an A-rank jutsu developed by Minato Namikaze over several years with his master Jiraiya, inspired by the "Tailed Beast Bomb." Not just for Kushina, the Rasengan is also his legacy entrusted to Naruto, a jutsu that refines shape transformation to its utmost limit. If he had any flaws, it would probably be his ridiculously long and convoluted naming sense for techniques (lol). For example, the Rasengan was originally called 「Kōrin Reika Hatsuki Senmō Jiraiya Sōshiki no Maru」!
This figure stands approximately 20 cm tall, capturing Minato Namikaze in a dynamic battle pose, wielding a special kunai while simultaneously unleashing the Rasengan. The powerful sense of motion is conveyed through the swirling air effects around him, as if being drawn into the Rasengan, and the flowing "Fourth Hokage" haori. Signature features such as his golden short hair, Konoha ninja headband, and sharp eyes are all meticulously sculpted. The special kunai scattered on the rocky base are not only accurately detailed in their design but also convey Minato's iconic fighting style.
