KOTOBUKIYA, the Japanese model manufacturer, has officially announced today the latest product in its popular plastic model kit series, "Megami Device," which combines colorful mechanical equipment with highly articulated bishoujo bodies. The "PUNI☆MOFU Neko" is scheduled for release in September 2024.
Designed by Japanese illustrator BLADE, the PUNI☆MOFU Neko is the first Megami Device unit to utilize the "Machineca Block2-S" articulated body. Compared to the Machineca Block2-M body of the "BUSTER DOLL" series, it boasts an incredibly cute, low-height physique. The entire unit incorporates abundant cat-themed elements in its armed design. While appearing delicate and harmless, its combat capabilities are truly formidable. Its main weapon, the "Paw Print Hammer," releases shockwaves upon impact to enhance destructive power. Furthermore, the hammerhead can be equipped on both hands to switch to "Super Cat Punch" mode, allowing for high-speed combos to pursue enemies or be launched as a long-range weapon, the "Cat Punch Missile."
The "Megami Device PUNI☆MOFU Neko" features a completely new low-height "Machineca Block2-S" body designed by Masaki Apsy, crafted with entirely new parts. It possesses the same cutting-edge articulation design as the M-type, realized through its petite stature, rich molded color parts, and decals. Once assembled, it stands approximately 13.5 cm tall. The "Normal Face," "Sparkling Smile Face," and "Cat Face," all drawn by BLADE, are produced as pre-printed parts, allowing for a variety of elegant poses when combined with the multiple included hand parts.
By equipping the full body armor and the "Paw Print Hammer" weapon, the armed mode can be recreated. With the included articulated stand, dynamic and adorable hammer-swinging poses can be achieved. As per the design, the hammerhead parts can also be disassembled and equipped onto both hands to switch to the speed-focused "Super Cat Punch" mode. While the weapon expansion capabilities do not feature as many exposed 3mm standard holes as the "BUSTER DOLL" series, this design choice allows for more complete weapon sculpting and structure, fully showcasing the charming appeal from BLADE's original artwork.
