TAKARA TOMY, the Japanese toy company, is set to release the latest product, number 09, for their Pokémon-themed competitive toy "Pokémon Ultimatch (ポケモンアルティマッチ)" in May 2024: "Ceruledge (Super Ball)" (ソウブレイズ (スーパーボール))! The suggested retail price is 2,500 JPY (tax included).
The "Pokémon Ultimatch," enjoyable for both adults and children, is an interactive toy composed of the Pokémon figure itself, unit parts (ユニットパーツ), discs/battle chips, and various types of balls. Simply press the trigger on the back to launch the battle chips and initiate an attack. There are many ways to play, including the two-player "Pokémon Battle," the solo "Catching Pokémon" mode for individual fun, and a "Practice Mode" to set targets and improve skills. In battle, if a battle chip hits the opponent's HP (hit point, the protruding area below the Pokémon), the ball on top will close, ending the game. If you own multiple toys, you can enjoy the fun of catching Pokémon using the same gameplay.
This "Ceruledge" is a "Double Type" that can launch two battle chips simultaneously for wide-range attacks. However, unlike the Greninja, which is also a Double Type, it comes with an additional single-hand grip, further enhancing control flexibility during battles. Other product contents include 10 battle chips, character cards for Quaquaval and Pawmot, and two stands. Additionally, it can be combined with TAKARA TOMY's MS series Pokémon figures to enjoy the experience of becoming a Pokémon Master.
