Japanese figure manufacturer Union Creative recently showcased the painted prototypes of the ZOZO BLACK COLLECTION series character figures, featuring six female characters including Rikka Takarada, Akane Shinjo, Yume Minami, Chise Asukagawa, Mujina, and 2nd. These figures are based on a collaboration project between the theatrical anime film "GRIDMAN UNIVERSE" and ZOZOTOWN, the fashion e-commerce platform under Japan's ZOZO Co. The release date is yet to be determined.
The concept for this series originates from the collaborative merchandise released in 2023 to celebrate the premiere of "GRIDMAN UNIVERSE" and the partnership with ZOZOTOWN. Original black-toned outfits, incorporating ZOZOTOWN's brand image, were designed for the six female characters in the film, presenting a street style distinct from their in-series uniform designs.
This time, Union Creative has unveiled for the first time the painted prototypes of the six characters. Each character figure faithfully recreates the character illustrations used for the original collaboration, thoroughly reproducing Rikka and the others' cool expressions, model-like poses, and intricate details on their original outfits such as logos, pockets, and metallic accessories.
