Japanese toy company TAKARA TOMY, under its popular toy series "ZOIDS," announced its latest product, "AZ-06 Liger Zero Phoenix," from the "AZ SERIES," which remakes classic Zoids using modern cutting-edge technology as part of the "ZOIDS 40TH ANNIVERSARY PROJECT" 40th anniversary commemorative project, scheduled for release in late September 2024.

The lion-type Zoid RZ-041 Liger Zero, unlike typical Zoids equipped with an OS system, was developed based on a "complete wild body," possessing its most distinctive "CAS (Changing Armor System)," which allows it to swap armor and weapons according to different environments and tactical needs. Later, the "B-CAS" system, allowing combination with other Zoids, was added, making its functions even more versatile. The version released this time is the form created by the combination of Liger Zero and Fire Phoenix, strengthening its performance through the core resonance of the two units and gaining the ability to fly at low altitudes for short periods.
The "AZ-06 Liger Zero Phoenix" utilizes the Liger Zero base body from the second release in the series and a newly produced anime-version colored "Fire Phoenix." The Fire Phoenix, constructed from block parts assembled with 5mm connection joints, boasts a cool design and can be played with independently; pressing the button on its back allows its wings to flap manually. After disassembling the Fire Phoenix into armor parts, these can be attached to various parts of the Liger Zero base body to recreate the "Liger Zero Phoenix." Not only are the back and belly cannons reproduced, but the cockpit can also be opened to place a same-scale RD figure inside.

The "AZ-06 Liger Zero Phoenix" also features a built-in motor power system. Upon activating the switch, its eyes and core will light up red, the unit will begin to walk, and its wings and weapon parts will also move accordingly.
