The robot-themed action figure series 'ROBOT魂', released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collectors division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., has announced the upcoming release of the latest 'Gundam' work, the '(Ka signature) Amuro Ray's Custom Dijeh', supervised by popular mechanical designer Katoki Hajime, slated for September 2024.
The MSK-008 Dijeh is a ground combat MS independently developed by Karaba, a support organization for the AEUG, based on the RMS-099 Rick Dias. The unit underwent weight reduction and enhanced cooling systems, featuring two wing-shaped heat sinks on its back, and leg-mounted thrusters that significantly improved its mobility and maneuverability. Amuro Ray, one of its pilots, also participated in the development project, offering suggestions that were incorporated into the actual machine's design. Subsequently, a high-mobility combat specification was developed, featuring a twin-eye camera, balance stabilizers, and improved heat sinks. Amuro's custom unit, in particular, adopted the same orange and white color scheme as the 'ZETA PLUS A1 Type' mobile suit he used with the 18TFAS flight squadron.
The 'ROBOT魂 (Ka signature) Amuro Ray's Custom Dijeh' is based on the general release version from 2017, with modifications. The entire model features intricate sculpting to faithfully recreate its armor, weaponry, and various mechanisms, along with rich color applications and body markings to reproduce Amuro's custom unit's distinctive color scheme and personal emblem. It comes with two sets of interchangeable parts, allowing it to be transformed to recreate both the standard specification with a mono-eye and large heat sinks, as well as the high-mobility combat specification equipped with a twin-eye camera, balance stabilizers, and improved heat sinks.
The weaponry is also primarily based on the general release version with modified coloring. It includes two Gelgoog Rocket Launchers, two Beam Rifles, and a Beam Naginata with beam effect parts, as well as the large weapon 'Hyper Mega Launcher', which shares the same design as the one used by Amuro's other mobile suit, the 'Z Gundam Unit 3'. The weapon rack on the left shoulder can mount the Hyper Mega Launcher, Gelgoog Rocket Launchers, Beam Rifles, and other armaments.
