American toy manufacturer McFarlane (McFarlane Toys) has announced the launch of its first Collector's Club Drawing Board crowdfunding project, the "Spawn Batman Comic Resin Statue"! The original crowdfunding schedule was set to run from midnight today (the 12th) until May 6th, but McFarlane reached its target goal in just 20 minutes and sold out completely within 11 hours. We wonder if any of you toy collectors were among the backers of this project!?
This statue, featuring both "Spawn" and "Batman," is inspired by the 1994 comic "Spawn/Batman," written by Frank Miller and drawn by Todd McFarlane, published by Image Comics. Its cover composition also pays homage to Frank Miller's legendary DC masterpiece, "Batman: The Dark Knight Returns."
This piece is sculpted in 1/10 scale using resin, reaching an impressive height of 62 cm. It faithfully recreates the dynamic pose of the two characters charging into action together (though undoubtedly reluctantly). In addition to the meticulous sculpting of their body movements, the flowing lines of both capes are exceptionally rendered. Viewed from behind, they present a striking black and red contrast, each dominating a side. The base also features intricate sculpting and painting. The overall piece is truly stunning, no wonder it was snatched up by collectors so quickly!
