The latest fourth product release from the TSUBURAYA IMAGINATION Product Planning Department of Japan's Tsuburaya Productions is the "Gavadon Extra-Large Plush Toy" (ガヴァドン 特大ぬいぐるみ) from the tokusatsu TV series "Ultraman Blazar"! General pre-orders are now open on TSUBURAYA STORE ONLINE, with a suggested retail price of 29,700 JPY, and shipping expected to begin in September 2024.
In the story of "Ultraman Blazar," Gavadon appears in Episode 15. It is a two-dimensional kaiju materialized from an unknown radiation covering Earth, combined with sunlight and children's drawings. To prevent Gavadon from being captured by adults, the children decided to draw Gavadon super-sized. However, such a massive Gavadon, simply by existing, threatened public safety and disrupted daily life even without doing anything, prompting the defense force to launch an attack. During Blazar's battle with Gavadon, Blazar's attacks had no effect whatsoever on the soft and fluffy Gavadon. The battle continued until evening, and finally, Gavadon was carried by Blazar into the beautiful sunset, transforming into the Gavadon constellation.
This extra-large Gavadon plush toy is an exciting product that was commercialized after a vote by TSUBURAYA IMAGINATION members. Measuring an impressive 150 cm in length, it faithfully recreates Gavadon's body shape from the series, with a more pronounced light blue coloring applied to its eyes and head than seen in the show.
