Danish LEGO toy company yesterday (15th) evening released several new Star Wars themed products. This article will introduce the Ultimate Collector Series (UCS) set number 75382, the "TIE Interceptor"! It is scheduled for a full release on Star Wars Day (May 4th), with a suggested retail price of US$229.99.
Among the Galactic Empire's TIE series starfighters, the TIE Interceptor boasts top-tier speed, excellent maneuverability, and formidable weaponry: four laser cannons mounted on the wingtips. However, it also comes with several drawbacks, such as extremely fragile armor and the omission of a hyperdrive and life support system. Essentially, a TIE Interceptor with a skilled pilot can deliver a devastating blow to the enemy, but even minor damage to the craft itself can be fatal. In LEGO Star Wars products, both the TIE Interceptor and the X-wing Starfighter were among the first wave of UCS products released in August 2000. This new version, returning with more precise specifications, is sure to thrill many toy enthusiasts.
This set contains a total of 1931 pieces, significantly more than the 703 pieces of the 2000 version, "7181 TIE Interceptor." Once assembled, it measures 40 cm long and 32 cm high, constructed with a large number of dark gray and black pieces to form the TIE Interceptor's classic blade-shaped wings and central cockpit. In addition to being able to open the cockpit canopy to enjoy the intricate interior details and place a minifigure inside, the exterior of the cockpit, formed by various curved pieces fitted together at multiple angles, is equally impressive. And of course, the four cannons on the wingtips have been faithfully recreated!
