As the highly anticipated Star Wars Day (May 4th, May the Fourth be with you) draws near, the Danish LEGO toy company has not only unveiled several new Star Wars-themed sets but also announced incentives to boost your purchases! These include two Gift With Purchase (GWP) items: the Armored Assault Tank (AAT) with product number 30680, and the Trade Federation Troop Carrier with product number 40686. Both are expected to be released on May 1, 2024, as part of a promotional offer for qualifying purchases.
LEGO 30680 AAT
Piece Count: 75 pieces total. Expected to be available for free with qualifying LEGO Star Wars purchases of $40 USD or more, starting May 1, 2024.
The full name of the anti-gravity tank AAT is Armored Assault Tank, a classic combat vehicle often seen in the Trade Federation's ground forces. This time, LEGO has recreated it in a mini version using only 75 pieces, with simple lines yet a highly accurate design.
LEGO 40686 Trade Federation Troop Carrier
Piece Count: 262 pieces total. Expected to be available for free with qualifying LEGO Star Wars purchases of $160 USD or more, starting May 1, 2024.
Next up is the main event: the Trade Federation Troop Carrier. This set can be considered a modern updated version of the 2001 "7126 Battle Droid Carrier." Not only is the troop carrier's design more streamlined and aesthetically pleasing, but you also get a whopping eight minifigures: two Battle Droid Pilots and six Battle Droids! What's even better is that the set includes a LEGO Star Wars 25th Anniversary commemorative brick, along with two 25th Anniversary logos on the front box art – I absolutely want this!
