Chinese model brand Tron Model-kit previously announced a product based on the classic anime "Astro Boy" — the "Astro Boy" non-scale assembly model kit, available in Standard and Deluxe editions, priced at 199 and 399 RMB respectively, and set to be released this April!
The manga series "Astro Boy" (Tetsuwan Atom), created by Japanese manga master Osamu Tezuka, was Tezuka-sensei's first long-running serialized work. It tells the story of Astro Boy, a bionic boy who actively works for the peace and welfare of humanity in the 21st century. The "The Greatest Robot on Earth" arc from the series was adapted into "PLUTO" by renowned manga artist Naoki Urasawa in 2003, and also adapted into an anime series of the same name by Studio M2 in 2023.
This "Astro Boy" non-scale assembly model kit is officially licensed. Once assembled, the main body stands approximately 30 cm tall. The product features an intricate internal skeletal frame combined with an outer shell assembly, faithfully recreating Astro Boy's appearance from the series. The frame boasts high articulation and LED light-up functions. The outer shell offers multiple options, allowing for increased articulation range after assembly through interchangeable parts. The chest armor features an opening mechanism to recreate his in-series look, and the outer shell can also be partially removed to display a half-exposed internal skeleton!
The Deluxe Edition will include Astro Boy's assembly platform, meticulously recreating details such as mechanical arms, allowing for the recreation of scenes where Astro Boy lies on the platform. Additionally, a complete set of transparent outer armor will be included, adding even more display enjoyment for collectors!
