Known poster design and toy company MONDO will exclusively launch three new "Batman: The Animated Series" themed products on the famous American toy website BigBadToyStore (BBTS) — the "Batman," "The Joker," and "Mr. Freeze" Noir Version 1/6 scale articulated figures. The suggested retail price is US$219.99 per figure, each limited to 1000 units. Pre-orders are now open on BBTS, with an estimated release in June 2024!
Airing on Fox Kids from 1992 to 1995, "Batman: The Animated Series" (BTAS) was released by Warner Bros. Animation. The series was inspired by Tim Burton's "Batman" films and 1940s Superman cartoons, excelling in every aspect including plot, art, voice acting, and sound design. It is an absolute masterpiece not to be missed when discussing Batman's audiovisual works!
The "Batman," "The Joker," and "Mr. Freeze" from "Batman: The Animated Series" released this time are re-imagined from previously launched versions. They faithfully sculpt and restore the characters' cartoonish designs, with paint applications that replicate the cel-animated 2D feel of the original work through line art coloring and distinct light/shadow separation. A major highlight this time is the full black-and-white color scheme, bringing a film noir visual style that is even closer to the oppressive feel of black-and-white films!
This time, great care has also been taken with the accessories, with some additions and subtractions compared to the previous colored versions. In addition to standard interchangeable expressions and hands, various scene-specific accessories from the series are included, such as the Batman clone head sculpt from Season 1, The Joker's hat-wearing sculpt and Joker bomb, and Mr. Freeze's ballerina snow globe. Mr. Freeze holding the ballerina snow globe, which holds such profound meaning for him, appears even more heartbreaking in the black-and-white color scheme!
