Produced by Japan's PLEX Co., Ltd. and distributed by X-PLUS Co., Ltd., the monster soft vinyl figure series "Toho Large Monsters", which features monsters from Toho films, announced today its latest commemorative product, "King Ghidorah (1964) Fierce Battle Color Ver.", scheduled for release in June 2024, to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the monster film "Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster".
The highly popular monster "King Ghidorah" from the "Godzilla" film series first appeared in the 1964 film "Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster". This version of King Ghidorah is set as a cosmic monster that destroyed Venusian civilization in just three days 5,000 years ago. It descended to modern Japan as a meteorite with a meteor shower. Each of its three heads can emit "gravity beams" that cause targets to lose gravity, and its massive wings can not only achieve high-speed flight but also generate powerful storms.
The "Toho Large Monsters Series King Ghidorah (1964) Fierce Battle Color Ver." is based on the regular version released in 2019. It recreates King Ghidorah's majestic winged pose with an impressive size of approximately 39 cm in height and 66 cm in width, meticulously detailing the three heads and the golden scales across its body, based on the suit used in the film. The difference in the Fierce Battle Color Ver. is that, in addition to the full golden paintwork, it features added weathering effects, capturing its appearance after intense battles in the film.
