BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division in Japan has announced today that the latest product from its Gunpla series, 'HG (High Grade)', which boasts the most diverse range of mobile suits, the 'HG 1/144 Gundam Burnlapius', from the official side story manga 'New Mobile Report Gundam Wing DUAL STORY G-UNIT', is scheduled for release in July 2024. This product will be sold exclusively on BANDAI's official online store, PREMIUM BANDAI.
The OZ-10VMSX-2 Gundam Burnlapius is an enhanced mobile suit newly constructed by Dr. Peurouge, the developer of the 'G-UNIT' series, based on the Gundam Aesculapius. It retains the original machine's functions while adding new armaments. In addition to the shoulders being improved into 'Golem Claws', it also features the large physical sword 'Assault Bayonet' and the electromagnetic shield 'EMF Shield'. The 'PX System', which can instantly boost the mobile suit's performance, is further enhanced by removing its limiter, though this may cause significant damage to both the mobile suit and its pilot. The 'Duel Mode' introduces a new leg transformation mechanism, giving it a stance reminiscent of the high-performance Gogg from the Universal Century.
The 'HG 1/144 Gundam Burnlapius' recreates the design from mechanical designer Junichi Akutsu's new design drafts, utilizing the frame of the previously released Gundam Geminass series. Characteristic features such as the antenna, chest armor, armaments like the 'Assault Bayonet', and the transformation mechanisms for the shoulder joints and leg thrusters are all made with new parts.
In Normal Mode, the flexible articulation design throughout the body allows for dynamic posing. Equipped with armaments such as the Assault Bayonet and EMF Shield, it can recreate various combat stances. The 'Golem Claws' on both sides of the backpack also feature multiple articulation points. By utilizing the movable mechanisms of the backpack, shoulders, and legs, and replacing some parts, the 'Duel Mode' can be recreated, transforming into a high-performance Gogg-like appearance. In this mode, the 'Golem Claws', which become the main armament, are further extended and feature four axes of articulation, allowing for lively combat poses.
