Japan's GOOD SMILE COMPANY's assembly model kit series, "MODEROID", will release an assembly model kit of the protagonist Angela's late-model unit, "New Arhan", from the 2014 anime film "Expelled from Paradise" (楽園追放 -Expelled from Paradise-) in December 2024! Priced at 8,700 JPY.
The 3D CG animated film "Expelled from Paradise" (楽園追放 -Expelled from Paradise-), released in November 2014, was co-produced by Toei Animation and Nitro+, directed by Seiji Mizushima, with "The Butcher" Gen Urobuchi as screenwriter. It also featured renowned voice actors such as Rie Kugimiya.
The story primarily describes a future world where Earth is no longer suitable for habitation due to environmental changes. People abandon their physical bodies, converting their consciousness into data, and reside in the cyber world "Deva". The protagonist, Angela, is a data security officer. To track down a hacker who infiltrated Deva, she embarks on an mission in a 16-year-old physical body alongside Dingo, an investigator on Earth, gradually uncovering the truth behind the incident.
The unit "Arhan" that Angela pilots in the story is a mobile exoskeleton armor issued to agents by Deva's Central Security Bureau. Its Chinese characters are written as "阿羅漢". It can transform into a spherical standby mode and comes in two types: current model and new generation model. In the latter part of the story, Angela switches to the new generation model, which is referred to as "Latest Model Arhan" or "New Generation Arhan" in the show, and is called "New Arhan" when merchandise is released.
This MODEROID New Arhan stands approximately 16 cm tall, features articulated joints throughout, and can transform into its egg-shaped standby mode. For weaponry, it includes 2 machine guns, a long-range rifle, a missile launcher, a high-frequency vibration blade, and a dedicated shield. With meticulously color-separated parts, the assembled model will closely resemble its original design.
