Today, TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, announced the latest product from the robot-themed articulated finished product "ROBOT魂 ver. A.N.I.M.E." series, the "Hi-Zack," from "Mobile Suit Z Gundam," scheduled for release in September 2024.
In the "Z Gundam" era after the One Year War, the Earth Federation Forces took over the design of the Zeon military mobile suit "Zaku II F2 Type." Based on this, they combined technologies from both factions to develop the next-generation Zaku, the "RMS-106 Hi-Zack." Various components were improved, including lightweight armor, increased fuel capacity, and new thrusters. While it could be equipped with a beam rifle and beam saber, the power system suffered from poor design due to the mixed use of Zeon's fluid pulse drive and the Federation's motor drive. As a result, it could only use one beam weapon in combat at most, often employing combinations like "Zaku Machine Gun + Beam Saber" or "Beam Rifle + Heat Hawk."
The "ROBOT魂 Hi-Zack ver. A.N.I.M.E." is produced as an articulated figure approximately 13 cm tall. It faithfully recreates the sleek and cool design details from the anime setting, such as the exposed power pipes and large thruster backpack. It also incorporates the articulation design cultivated over many years in the ver. A.N.I.M.E. series, featuring movable chest armor, pull-out shoulder joints, horizontal axis movable elbow joints, and wrist power pipe linkage mechanisms, allowing for dynamic battle poses from the series.
Its extensive armaments include the 120mm Zaku Machine Gun Kai, Beam Saber, Beam Rifle, Missile Pods, Heat Hawk, and Shield. A pair of missile pods can be mounted on the rear waist, and the inside of the shield can store spare energy magazines for the beam rifle. Additionally, a pair of thruster effect parts are included, which can be attached to the backpack nozzles to recreate flight states.
