TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., has announced today the latest product from the anime "Super Electromagnetic Robot Combattler V", the "GX-50SP Combattler V CHOGOKIN 50th ver.", as part of the popular alloy toy series "Soul of Chogokin" to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the "Chogokin" brand. It is scheduled for release in October 2024.
Combattler V is a giant combining robot developed by Dr. Nambara, who foresaw a future conflict with the extraterrestrial invaders, the Campbellians, lurking beneath the Earth. With assistance from the United Nations, he harnessed super electromagnetic power to create it. He assembled the "Battle Team" from across Japan, recruiting Hyoma Aoi, Juzo Naniwa, Daisaku Nishikawa, Kosuke Kita, and his granddaughter Chizuru Nambara, to pilot the five battle machines. Once the five machines combine to form Combattler V, it can utilize its robust armor and powerful super electromagnetic energy to combat the biological weapons and battle machines dispatched by the Campbellian army.
The "Soul of Chogokin GX-50SP Combattler V CHOGOKIN 50th ver." is a modified version based on the previously released GX-50. The red, blue, and yellow color scheme used throughout the entire machine is identical to its sibling unit, the "GX-31SP Voltes V", which also commemorates the 50th anniversary of Chogokin. The silver parts are also finished with mirror-plated silver, paying homage to early Chogokin releases.
Other designs are fundamentally the same as the regular version. It includes five battle machines with transformation and combination mechanisms: Battle Jet, Battle Bomber, Battle Tank, Battle Marine, and Battle Craft. It can recreate the 25 cm tall "Combattler V" form and the "Grand Dasher" form. It also comes with a rich array of weapon accessories, including the Chodenji Yo-Yo, Twin Lancer, Atomic Burner, Battle Grap, Chodenji Hammer, Big Blast, and parts to recreate the Chodenji Tatsumaki.
