Danish toy company LEGO has recently been unveiling new products from its various lines slated for release in the second half of the year. This article will bring you product information for the numbered 40719 "Traditional Chess Set"! It is expected to be released on June 1, 2024, with a suggested retail price of US$74.99.
This set contains a total of 743 pieces. Once assembled, you get a square chessboard approximately 30.7 cm long, featuring the standard 64 squares, along with LEGO chess pieces for two players to hone their skills. Unlike the common black and white pieces, LEGO has chosen to present this set with two color schemes: sand and dark brown. Coupled with the chessboard adorned with gold pieces, the overall set exudes a rich classical aesthetic. From the shapes of the pieces, it's easy to identify the King, Rook (Castle), Knight, Bishop, and the Pawns in the front row. According to the official website's description, the Queen is represented by the piece with a golden microfigure on top! Additionally, this product also includes black & white round flat pieces, which can be used to start a game of Checkers! Two games in one set.
