Following the previous release of Sleeping Beauty's villain, Maleficent, the "Disney Darkness Descends" series from Mattel Creations, the online sales platform of American toy company Mattel that collaborates with fan creators, has once again launched a new product featuring a classic Disney villain: the "Cruella De Vil" collector doll. With a suggested retail price of US$100, it is now available for pre-order on the Mattel Creations official website, with an estimated shipping date of September 2024!
Cruella, the villain from Disney's classic 1961 animated film "101 Dalmatians," is an old classmate of Anita, the mistress of the 101 Dalmatians' home. Upon learning that Anita's family had 15 newborn Dalmatian puppies, she sought to acquire them to make a dog fur coat. After being firmly rejected, she went to great lengths to steal the Dalmatians. Cruella De Vil's name is derived from "Cruel" for her first name and "Devil" split for her last name, essentially meaning a cruel devil. Her interesting and distinctive character was also adapted into a live-action film in 2021, "Cruella," starring popular actress Emma Stone, allowing fans to get to know this classic villain from a different perspective!
This Cruella collector doll stands approximately 28 cm tall, with sculpting that faithfully recreates Cruella's sunken cheeks and slender physique, capturing her evil smile and iconic black and white hair. For her attire, Cruella is outfitted in a black and white evening gown, red long boots, and long gloves, topped with a fluffy fur coat, reinterpreting her fashionable yet cruel image from the film. The doll features 9 points of articulation, allowing for various villainous poses. The packaging is designed with a window box, complemented by red and black printing on the outer box, showcasing Cruella's full villainous charm even before unboxing!
