BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division in Japan has announced today the latest product from the theatrical anime film "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM," the "HG 1/144 Black Knight Squad Cal-re.A" from the 'HG (High Grade)' series of 1/144 scale Gunpla, which boasts the most diverse range of mobile suits. It is scheduled for release in October 2024.
The NOG-M2D1/E Black Knight Squad Cal-re.A is the latest cutting-edge two-seater mobile suit in the Black Knight series, independently developed by the Foundation combining P.L.A.N.T. technology. It is piloted jointly by the Foundation's Prime Minister, Orphee Lam Tao, and his secretary, Ingrid Tradoll. This mobile suit's performance far surpasses that of other Black Knight series machines, equipped with "FT Armor" capable of significantly defending against beam attacks, and 8 DRAGOON System wings derived from P.L.A.N.T. technology. Each wing features 8 beam cannons, totaling an impressive 64 beam cannons. Furthermore, it can even control the large DRAGOON System "AMO-01 Ziggurat," which resembles a small battleship.
The "HG 1/144 Black Knight Squad Cal-re.A" is produced using Bandai's latest part separation and color molding technology, allowing for a significant recreation of the in-show colors through the molded plastic parts. The golden sculpted patterns on various armor sections are reproduced using gold and gray parts. By swapping parts, the deployed state of the "DRAGOON System" wings on the back can be recreated. More detailed product information is expected to be released in June 2024.
