Issued by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., the "METAL ROBOT魂 (Ka signature)" series, which features designs supervised by renowned mechanical designer KATOKI HAJIME, metallic paint finishes, and alloy frames, recently announced the latest product from "Gundam Sentinel," the "ZETA PLUS A1/A2 (C-Type Conversion Parts Set)," slated for release in October 2024.
The MSZ-006A1 ZETA PLUS A1 is a mass-produced transformable Mobile Suit redesigned by the AEUG-affiliated organization "Karaba" based on the MSZ-006 Z Gundam. This unit significantly simplified the Z Gundam's complex transformation mechanism, thereby achieving lower production costs and a more stable movable frame structure. Although its operational range was limited to within the atmosphere, its Waverider (WR) form was specialized for long-distance flight, allowing it to excel in aerial combat. Later, in the "Gundam Sentinel" setting, the Earth Federation Forces commissioned Anaheim Electronics to redesign this unit into the space-combat specification "ZETA PLUS C1."
The "METAL ROBOT魂 (Ka signature) ZETA PLUS A1/A2 (C-Type Conversion Parts Set)" is a modified version based on previously released ZETA PLUS series units. The entire model features a two-tone gray low-visibility camouflage paint scheme and newly designed fuselage markings. The cool styling, supervised by KATOKI HAJIME, faithfully recreates the in-series design, complete with an alloy movable frame, wings, and backpack components to reproduce its transformed Waverider form.
By swapping parts, it can recreate the atmospheric A1 specification, the space-use C1 specification, and the A2 and C2 specifications, which feature a "High-Output Mega Cannon" mounted in the head. The armaments include a beam saber, beam rifle, shield, beam cannons mounted on both thighs, and the distinctive signature weapon, the "Beam Smart Gun."
