Renowned poster design and toy company MONDO recently announced the launch of a new Masters of the Universe-themed product—the "Sky Sled" (tentative translation) 1/6 scale collectible vehicle model, with a suggested retail price of US$395, expected to be released in November 2024, and currently available for timed pre-order on the MONDO SHOP official website!
The "Sky Sled" is a vehicle commonly used by He-Man and the heroic warriors in Masters of the Universe, similar in appearance to the "War Sled" used by Skeletor's faction but lighter in color. In the animation produced by Filmation, the Sky Sled was mostly mounted on the Attak Trak, used as an auxiliary vehicle. The original 1981 toy series did not feature a separately sold Sky Sled; instead, it could be detached from another vehicle, the "Battle Ram."
For this release, MONDO has chosen the Sky Sled as the brand's first Masters of the Universe vehicle model. Crafted by multiple designers within the team, it features intricate paintwork to showcase the texture of various accessories on the vehicle, and faithfully recreates the iconic griffin head sculpt and the dragon relief on the sides, upgrading it to a premium ride while retaining its original design. Accessories include interchangeable laser beams and detachable exhaust flame effect parts, allowing for recreation of the Sky Sled in combat. Furthermore, the timed edition includes bonus head sculpts for He-Man and Prince Adam, enabling collectors to pair them with previously released Masters of the Universe 1/6 scale collectible figures!
