BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd.'s "Chogokin" series of alloy toys, which uses composite materials to reproduce appearance and playability, will once again release the "Going Merry Anime 25th Anniversary Memorial Edition" to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the One Piece anime broadcast, following the "Standard Version Going Merry", "Manga 20th Anniversary Premium Color Ver. Going Merry", and "Going Merry Anime 20th Anniversary Memorial Edition"!
The "Going Merry" (ゴーイング・メリー号, formerly translated as "Golden Merry" in Taiwan) first appeared in Chapter 41 of the manga. It was the Straw Hat Pirates' first official pirate ship, gifted to them by Kaya after they successfully defeated the Black Cat Pirates. The Going Merry accompanied Luffy and his crew through many adventures, including Alabasta and Skypiea, and honorably retired after its final act of saving the Straw Hat Pirates at Enies Lobby. We believe the scene of bidding farewell to the Going Merry is one of the most cherished memories for all One Piece fans!
This Chogokin Going Merry Anime 25th Anniversary Memorial Edition inherits the anime-accurate color scheme of the "Standard Version Going Merry" first released in 2012, meticulously recreating every detail on the ship, from Luffy's special seat at the bow to the tangerine grove at the stern. The biggest difference from previous versions, of course, is that this edition's main sail, in addition to the usual Straw Hat Pirates' Jolly Roger version, includes a specially printed main sail part featuring the words "TV Animation ONE PIECE 25th," once again celebrating the 25th anniversary of the One Piece anime broadcast with the release of the Chogokin Going Merry!
Additionally, it comes with mini figures of Luffy sitting at the bow, and Luffy and his crew sitting in a small boat after escaping Enies Lobby, allowing you to recreate both everyday scenes and the tear-jerking farewell scene from the anime!
