Kaiyodo, the Japanese model manufacturer, today announced that the latest product from its popular articulated figure series 'AMAZING YAMAGUCHI,' 'Ryu Hayabusa' from the Ninja Gaiden series, is expected to be released in January 2025.
The solitary super ninja 'Ryu Hayabusa' first appeared in the 1988 Famicom game 'Ninja Ryukenden' (known as 'Ninja Gaiden' internationally), developed by Tecmo, Japan. He subsequently played active roles in other Koei Tecmo games, including the 'Ninja Gaiden' series, 'Dead or Alive,' and 'Dynasty Warriors' series. In his lore, Ryu Hayabusa is a modern super ninja who inherited the ancient Hayabusa-ryu ninjutsu. As the last descendant of the Dragon Clan, he bears the destiny of fighting evil and is skilled in powerful ninjutsu such as the deadly throwing technique 'Izuna Drop'.
The 'AMAZING YAMAGUCHI Ryu Hayabusa' figure is based on his appearance in 'Ninja Gaiden 2' and sculpted by Kaiyodo's renowned sculptor, Katsuhisa Yamaguchi. It faithfully recreates his muscular physique, the sleek, modern-tech black ninja attire, and metallic armor. Utilizing Revoltech (REVOLTECH) series joint parts and unique articulation designs in areas such as the shoulders and calves, the eyeballs also feature a movable mechanism for interchangeable gazes. The flowing scarf also has articulated joints at its base, allowing for various dynamic ninja poses.
For accessories, in addition to 10 interchangeable hand parts, the figure also includes Ryu Hayabusa's signature weapons 'Dragon Sword,' 'Shuriken,' 'Kusarigama,' and 'Claws of the Falcon' which can be equipped on the hands or legs. Furthermore, pre-ordering this product through Kaiyodo or Koei Tecmo's official direct channels will grant a limited bonus: the beloved sword 'Blade of the Archfiend,' gifted by the Evil Ninja Lord Genshin after his defeat by Ryu Hayabusa.
