Chinese toy brand HIYA Toys' high-quality 6-inch action figure series, "Exquisite Super," will release a new product based on the classic anime series "Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C." – the "Motoko Kusanagi" 1/12 scale action figure. The suggested retail price is US$89.99, and it is expected to be released in Q2 2025!
"Ghost in the Shell: STAND ALONE COMPLEX" (abbreviated as "Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C.") is a TV anime series produced by Production I.G. in 2002, adapted from the manga "Ghost in the Shell" first serialized in 1989 by Japanese manga artist Masamune Shirow. The story depicts a highly technologically advanced world where people and machines merge to form a new social structure, revolving around "Public Security Section 9," a special unit responsible for combating crime and terrorism. The protagonist of this work, "Motoko Kusanagi," suffered a severe accident in the past that caused extensive damage to her body. To save her life, her brain was transplanted into a mechanical body, making her a cyborg. She is calm, decisive, and often leads operations in high-risk situations, making her an excellent team member. Through her confusion about her own identity and the meaning of existence, viewers can also explore profound issues of humanity and machinery, consciousness, and self-cognition.
This Motoko Kusanagi 1/12 scale action figure is HIYA's first Japanese anime-themed action figure product. The product stands approximately 14.5 cm tall, faithfully reproducing her appearance in "Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C." wearing a leather jacket paired with a purple combat suit that matches her hair. The texture of the jacket is recreated with actual leather fabric, and various details on Motoko's body are meticulously sculpted. The highly articulated body and multiple hand and weapon accessories allow collectors to recreate the Major's cool dynamic poses from the series!
