BANDAI SPIRITS Company's HOBBY Division, under its 'HG (High Grade)' model kit series, today announced the latest product from "Super Robot Wars Z", the 'Gunleon', is scheduled for release in October 2024.
The original super robot Gunleon appeared in the game "Super Robot Wars Z", released in 2008. It is the unit piloted by the player's initial choice for the hot-blooded super robot protagonist, "Rand Travis", and his fiancée, "Mail Beater". Normally, they operate a repair shop business with this machine, using its massive anti-ship repair wrench and various tools mounted all over its body to repair machinery. What appears to be a high-performance engineering machine actually possesses a hidden function to transform into its battle mode, "Grand Mode". This not only fully unleashes the unit's performance but also turns its everyday repair tools into incredibly destructive weapons.
The "HG Gunleon" is produced using Bandai's latest color separation and part division technology, extensively recreating the colors of its entire armament. Film stickers are used to reproduce the yellow and black warning stripes. Thanks to its flexible movable joint design, it can be posed in various battle stances from the game. By replacing some parts and transforming, it can further recreate the powerful, lion-like appearance of its battle mode, "Grand Mode".
The massive anti-ship repair wrench, "Riot Wrench", boasts an impressive length of 23 cm. It can also transform along with the main body into Grand Mode, deploying its huge claws and internal drill. Furthermore, various armaments such as chainsaws, twin guns, and small wrenches are stored throughout its body. These can be equipped using dedicated hand parts, allowing for the recreation of various attack poses from the game!
