The "HORROR Bishoujo" series, a collaboration between Japanese toy brand Kotobukiya and renowned illustrator "Shunya Yamashita," has finally unveiled the visual illustration for the "HORROR Bishoujo Sadako" 1/7 scale figure, themed after the Japanese horror film "Ring"!
The classic Japanese horror film "Ring," adapted from Koji Suzuki's novel of the same name and directed by Hideo Nakata, tells the story of a rumor circulating among middle school students: whoever watches a mysterious cursed videotape will receive a phone call with an eerie ringtone and die mysteriously within seven days... To uncover the mystery and save his son, who also watched the tape, reporter Asakawa begins to investigate the source of the mysterious videotape. After peeling back layers of clues, he discovers that the tape was made by a woman named Sadako Yamamura...
Illustrator "Shunya Yamashita," known for combining popular elements with his personal style to depict feminine charm, has reinterpreted Sadako with her classic look of disheveled hair, pale skin, and a white dress. Although the illustration completely covers her face, there's a faint shadow of eyes in the background, suggesting it might be presented with interchangeable head sculpts. The pose, with her body curled up, is both eerie and subtly alluring. The base is stacked with cursed videotapes, and magnetic tape hangs from her feet~ Truly exciting!
