World-renowned collectible toy brand Hot Toys' new sub-brand HONŌ STUDIO, which gathers numerous excellent designers globally, is warming up for the upcoming annual event "Hong Kong Ani-Com & Games" at the end of the month. They will be releasing a limited edition new product – the "Wolverine (Brown Suit Version)" 1/6 scale collectible action figure – at the Hot Toys Hong Kong flagship store. The suggested retail price is HKD 980, with a global limited edition of 1,500 units. Pre-orders open for members on July 8th and for the public on July 9th. International buyers can pre-order on the Sideshow official website at 10 AM Pacific Time on July 10th, with an estimated shipping date starting August 2024!
Wolverine's brown suit design first appeared in Uncanny X-Men #139. It was a new costume designed for Wolverine by cartoonist John Byrne after he took over the X-Men comic series in 1980, changing the iconic blue and yellow color scheme to brown and yellow, and removing the shoulder pads and tiger stripe design. It was an instant hit with fans upon its release and was Logan's primary look throughout the 80s and 90s!
This "Wolverine (Brown Suit Version)" 1/6 scale collectible action figure appears to be a modification of the previously released blue and yellow "Wolverine". It features finely sculpted, lean muscle lines for Wolverine, and is also crafted using seamless silicone, perfectly replicating even the skin textures! The costume utilizes leather and fabric materials to recreate the brown suit's coffee-colored chest and shoulder padding design, showcasing the charm of the classic 80s look. Four meticulously designed interchangeable lower face expression parts allow collectors to choose different expressions based on the pose!
In addition, the accessories include Wolverine's classic weapon from the 80s comics, the "Muramasa blade" (red Muramasa blade). It also continues HONŌ STUDIO's practice of including a display stand with a collectible comic, allowing collectors to display it alongside X-Men comic series, creating the impression that Wolverine has stepped right out of the comic book!
