Kotobukiya (KOTOBUKIYA), a Japanese toy company renowned for its "ARTFX J" series which creates exquisite three-dimensional figures of ACG characters, has announced a new product based on the popular anime "NieR:Automata Ver1.1a" – the "2B (YoRHa No.2 Type B)" 1/8 scale pre-painted figure. It will be priced at 25,300 JPY and is scheduled for release in January 2025!
The TV anime "NieR:Automata Ver1.1a," which began airing in 2023, is produced by A-1 Pictures. It is an adaptation of "NieR:Automata," a spin-off from the "Drakengard" series developed by PlatinumGames and published by Square Enix. One of the three main protagonists in the work is YoRHa No.2 Type B (referred to as 2B), whose name's "B" stands for "Battle." She is a combat-model android of YoRHa, possessing silver-white hair like other YoRHa androids, exceptional combat skills, and high loyalty. Her mission is to protect humanity's remaining forces and destroy enemies.
This "2B (YoRHa No.2 Type B)" 1/8 scale pre-painted figure stands approximately 24 cm tall. It captures 2B in a dynamic pose, with one foot on a tree root and her body suspended, appearing ready to strike down an enemy. The intricate patterns and decorations on her Gothic attire are faithfully reproduced, and the flowing movement of her clothes, generated by her pose, is expertly sculpted. An interchangeable head sculpt without her visor is also included for display! The paintwork subtly differentiates materials through variations in color and sheen, and every detail of the "Virtuous Contract" sword in her hand has been precisely recreated!
The base features a scene of crumbling ruins, with Pod 042 sculpted floating nearby, ready to provide support. The overall scene is shared with the concurrently released "9S (YoRHa No.9 Type S)," allowing both figures to be displayed side-by-side!
