The robot-themed articulated finished product series "ROBOT魂", released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, today announced the latest product "VOLTES V", from the Philippine live-action series "Voltes V: Legacy", is scheduled for release in February 2025.
In Tadao Nagahama's "Chōdenji Machine Voltes V", the protagonist robot "Voltes V" is a super robot built to combat the Boazanian Empire's giant battle machines, the "Beast Fighters". It is composed of five Voltes machines: the Voltes Cruiser, Voltes Bomber, Voltes Panzer, Voltes Frigate, and Voltes Lander. When the five machines arrange themselves in a V-formation and shout "LET’S VOLT IN!", they combine. When this work was introduced to the Philippines in 1978, it achieved over 50% viewership and was even considered one of the key factors that led the people to launch the "People Power Revolution" to overthrow the Marcos dictatorship. Nearly half a century later, the Philippine GMA Network and Japan's Toei finally adapted this work into the live-action series "Voltes V: Legacy", which began airing in the Philippines in May 2023.
The "ROBOT魂 VOLTES V" is an articulated model, approximately 15.5 cm tall, produced based on the CG model of Voltes V after its combination in the "Voltes V: Legacy" series. It meticulously recreates the multi-layered armor and high-density detailed design, which differs from the original, with intricate sculpting from the mechanical structures on its surface down to the wheels and thrusters on its feet.
In addition to 3 types of interchangeable hands for both left and right, accessories include signature weapons such as the "Laser Sword", "Super Electromagnetic Whip", and "Super Electromagnetic Top". The "Voltes Bazooka" weapon, concealed within the wrist, can also be recreated in its deployed and firing poses using interchangeable parts.
