Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company HOBBY Division announced the latest product from the new anime "Mashin Sōzō-den", the "Ten Shō Maru", is scheduled for release in March 2025.
"Mashin Sōzō-den" is a completely new work that inherits the essence and some settings of "Mashin Hero Wataru", passing the series down to the next generation. The protagonist of the story, Wataru Hoshibe, is a fourth-grade elementary school video creator who dreams of becoming a superstar. One day, he is summoned to the alternate world "Chūbu-kai" to become its savior. In this block-filled alternate world, resembling a sandbox game, Wataru can use blocks to create various objects, including the Mashin "Ryūjinmaru" which houses a dragon soul. They embark on a journey to defeat the final boss, fighting alongside companions such as the swordsman Mifurain and popular VTuber MARO.
The "Ten Shō Maru" model kit, whose detailed background has not yet been revealed, features a design that requires no tools like nippers; parts can be detached from the runner by hand. The kit largely reproduces the in-show appearance through the original molded colors of yellow, white, blue, and gray. The chest, resembling a pterosaur's head, and the twin wings on the back can be deployed via movable mechanisms. The two short sword-type weapons it wields can be stored on the wings.
This "Mashin Sōzō-den" series of model kits adopts a common movable frame structure. In addition to achieving an excellent range of motion and reproducing in-show battle scenes and special moves with its 3-4 head-tall proportions, it also allows for free interchangeability of parts such as heads, bodies, limbs, and armor using pegs and joints of the same standard, enabling the creation of unique Mashin by mixing and matching parts from the "Mashin Sōzō-den" series.
