Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS HOBBY Division has announced the latest product from the new anime "Mashin Souseiden", the "Juugoumaru", slated for release in March 2025.
"Mashin Souseiden" is a completely new work that inherits the essence and some settings of "Mashin Hero Wataru", passing the series down to the next generation. The protagonist, Hoshibe Wataru, is a fourth-grade elementary school video creator who dreams of becoming a superstar. One day, he is summoned to the alternate world "Choubukai" to become its savior. In this block-filled alternate world, reminiscent of a sandbox game, Wataru can use blocks to create various objects, including the Mashin "Ryujinmaru", which houses a dragon soul. They embark on a journey to defeat the final boss, fighting alongside companions such as the swordsman Mifurain and popular VTuber MARO.
The mysterious Mashin "Juugoumaru", equipped with two giant cannons on its shoulders, features a kit design that requires no nippers or other tools; parts can be detached from the runners by hand. The original molded colors of black, yellow, and gray largely recreate its in-series appearance. The dinosaur-like head on its chest and the bases of the two shoulder cannons feature movable mechanisms, while short blade weapons are concealed within its arm gauntlets.
This "Mashin Souseiden" series of model kits adopts a common movable frame structure. In addition to achieving an excellent range of motion and recreating in-series battle scenes and special moves with its 3-4 head tall design, it also allows for free swapping of parts such as the head, body, limbs, and armor using standardized pegs and joints, enabling users to mix and match parts from other "Mashin Souseiden" series units to create their own unique Mashin.
