Japanese model maker Kotobukiya, under its "ARTFX J" line which creates exquisite three-dimensional works of Japanese anime and game characters, has officially announced the third product from the classic anime "Yu Yu Hakusho": the "ARTFX J Yu Yu Hakusho Hiei Ver.2" 1/8 scale figure! The suggested retail price is 25,300 JPY, and it is scheduled for release in March 2025.
Hiei (ひえい), a popular character from "Yu Yu Hakusho," is the son of an ice maiden born in the Glacier Country. Deemed a cursed child bringing disaster, he was abandoned by his clan at birth. To find the Ice Tear Stone left by his birth mother Hina, he had a third eye, the "Jagan" (Evil Eye), implanted. He is skilled in swordsmanship and the "Jao Ensatsu Ken" (Evil King Incineration Fist) fighting style, which manipulates the black flames of the Demon World. Due to his overwhelming power, which he cannot control, he must use bandages to bind his right arm and Jagan to seal the power of the Evil King Black Dragon.
The "ARTFX J Yu Yu Hakusho Hiei Ver.2" 1/8 scale figure, with a total height of approximately 24.5 cm, is based on his appearance from the "Dark Tournament Saga." Compared to the previous version of Hiei, there are significant upgrades in pose and details, thoroughly recreating a battle scene from the series. The massive base effect part, formed by his special move "Jao Ensatsu Kokuryuha" (Evil King Incineration Black Dragon Wave), gives the entire piece a dynamic, upward-surging feel, exuding extraordinary power! The blue-black transparent effect part depicts the malevolent Black Dragon, with complex gradient colors from dark purple to blue, making it both beautiful and sinister.
Hiei's cool face, unique hairstyle, the Jagan revealed on his forehead after removing the bandages, and his well-trained, muscular physique are also very appealing!
Displayed alongside other "Yu Yu Hakusho Ver.2" series products, you can further appreciate the world of the series.
Purchases made at Kotobukiya stores include a bonus interchangeable head sculpt featuring a wicked smile and upward-swept hair!
