The non-articulated figure brand "Figuarts ZERO," released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, announced today (31st) its latest product from the recently popular anime "Dandadan" (ダンダダン): the "Okarun (Transformed)" pre-painted figure! It is scheduled for release in April 2025, with a suggested retail price of 10,000 JPY.
The story of "Dandadan" is set in a modern world where supernatural phenomena and alien technology coexist. The male protagonist, "Ken Takakura," is an otaku who doesn't believe in ghosts but believes in aliens. The female protagonist, "Momo Ayase," is the exact opposite; raised by her psychic grandmother, she believes in ghosts but doesn't believe in aliens at all. By chance, the two embark on a "ghost/alien hunting competition." As a result, Momo Ayase is abducted by a Serpo alien, awakening her powerful psychic abilities. On the other hand, Takakura is cursed by the yokai "Turbo Granny." To restore Takakura's body to normal, the two begin special training with Momo Ayase's grandmother, "Seiko Ayase"......
※ Because Momo Ayase's ideal man is the tough guy "Ken Takakura," she is too shy to call out Takakura's name, which happens to be the same. Due to Takakura's interest in the occult, she calls him Okarun.
This Figuarts ZERO rendition of Okarun is based on his transformed appearance after utilizing Turbo Granny's power within him. It not only fully reproduces his white hair, the red lines extending from his face to his hair, his exaggerated fanged mask, and his wild-looking uniform, but also captures a sprinting pose that best expresses his abilities! Coupled with the swirling grayish-white smoke kicked up while running, the blue effect parts highlighting his explosive power, the slightly grayish-green paint application at the ends of his white hair, and the strong folds sculpted into his clothing, the overall look is incredibly cool!
