Japanese model manufacturer Kotobukiya (KOTOBUKIYA) has announced the latest scale figure product based on their original bishoujo plastic model kit series "Megami Device", the "Shura Aoi Midori 2/1 Scale Figure", slated for release in June 2025.
The "Shura" series of units from "Megami Device" was designed by renowned Japanese illustrator Nidy-2D-. The initially released Ninja and Archer characters featured armor designed with traditional Japanese red and white color schemes, combining traditional weapons such as bows and arrows, katanas, shurikens, and wakizashis with mechanical structures. The voluptuous and sexy body sculpt was also one of the reasons for its popularity, with subsequent releases including various derivative versions like the "Aoi" series, which resembles summer swimwear.
The "Shura Aoi Midori 2/1 Scale Figure" is based on an illustration drawn by Nidy-2D- in the official doujinshi "Megami Device Shura Customization Special". Compared to the plastic model kit version, it boasts twice the height and eight times the volume. It meticulously sculpts Nidy-2D-'s signature voluptuous physique and flowing, windswept long hair, expressing a full sense of fleshiness through the wrinkles on the swimsuit and the deformation effects of the body's compression.
The coloring has also been thoroughly supervised by Nidy-2D-. The entire body's skin is given a slightly glossy, healthy tan, complemented by a splash-effect base to convey a wet body under the scorching sun. Weapon parts like the water gun, made with numerous clear parts, are also rendered with rich colors, specifically reproducing the honeycomb pattern within the armor on both thighs.
