Berlin-based illustrator and manga artist Genki Takata (@takata_genki) recently dropped a bombshell on Threads: his son's letter to Santa. What started as a heartwarming note quickly took an unexpected turn, racking up over 1500 likes and going viral.
Takata-san confessed that he was already tearing up when he first saw his son's letter. The adorable note, penned in shaky kid-script, read: "Dear Santa: If you're hungry, please eat this." And sure enough, a plate of cookies sat ready for the big guy, a sweet testament to the child's pure heart. But then came the plot twist: flipping the page, Takata-san discovered a full-blown challenge. His son had drawn eight blank lines, clearly expecting a detailed, handwritten response from Santa himself!

"I had to do a double-take – I seriously couldn't believe my eyes! I was stumped!" Takata-san quipped. But instead of throwing in the towel, he decided to rise to the occasion, kicking off an epic late-night mission to deliver the perfect Santa reply.
To nail that authentic Santa vibe, he waited until his son was deep in dreamland before heading back to his studio. His mission? Crafting a German response that would fool even the most skeptical elf. He scanned the original letter, whipped up a custom handwritten font using graphic software, and then, with a light box, painstakingly traced every single stroke. The goal: make it look exactly like Santa's own penmanship. "For my beloved son," he declared, "I had to go all out!"

In the end, Takata-san pulled it off, slipping a card brimming with German wisdom into his son's Christmas haul. This meticulously crafted reply wasn't just a win for his kid; it melted hearts across the internet. Comments poured in, gushing: "This dad is next-level dedicated!" and "A kid's wild imagination plus a father's epic effort? That's the ultimate Christmas story right there!"
