The "Marvel Zombies" limited series will consist of four episodes. Showrunner Bryan Andrews stated in an official press release that Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige and Head of Marvel Animation Brad Winderbaum were so impressed with the zombie storyline in "What If...?" Season 1, Episode 5, that they proposed an additional mini-series sequel with no creative limitations. Andrews emphasized that while the show won't shy away from gore, its core will still explore themes of hope and despair.
