Currently airing and celebrating the 40th anniversary of "Dragon Ball," the new anime series "Dragon Ball Daima"—featuring a story and character designs personally crafted by the late original author Akira Toriyama—has captivated fans since its debut. With intriguing new characters and plotlines, viewers are eager to see how the story unfolds, which is now heading into its intense mid-season climax.
Today, we're spotlighting overseas creator and YouTuber "ArtiZ HD," whose video showcasing the creation of a Son Goku clay model from scratch, using hand-drawn techniques and vibrant clay, has exploded on YouTube with over 300,000 views and garnered immense love from fans.
ArtiZ HD, the mastermind behind this piece, is an international artist specializing in illustrations and 3D works primarily inspired by "Dragon Ball" and other Japanese manga and anime.
ArtiZ HD isn't just a master of drawing; he's also incredibly skilled at model making. His extraordinary talent shines through right from the initial sketching phase. To ensure perfect head-to-body proportions, his preliminary sketches are so detailed and accurate they look like complete artworks themselves—the level of fidelity is truly astonishing!
Following his detailed sketches, the artist first constructs a wireframe, then fills it with aluminum foil and clay before moving into the sculpting phase. He meticulously applies pliable clay to various parts of the model, carefully shaping Goku's body and head using bamboo skewers and other tools.
Through the clever use of different colored clays, the artist precisely recreates Goku's gi, skin tone, and other intricate details, while also delicately crafting his facial expressions. Finally, he adds highlights with a paintbrush, giving the model a striking 2D anime-style contrast and a powerful sense of three-dimensionality.
