Bandai Namco Toys & Collectibles Corporation of Japan has announced a new product, "Gaoking," from the "Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger" series, joining their "DXROBO UNIVERSE" transforming and combining robot toy series, which is based on Toei's Tokusatsu series "Super Sentai." It is scheduled for release on May 3, 2025.
In the series, the giant robot utilized by the Gaorangers is a Spirit King formed by the combination of numerous Power Animals. According to the lore, there are 100 Power Animals in existence; though they appear mechanical, each Power Animal is a spirit of nature embodying an animal form. Initially, the Gaorangers could summon Gao Lion, Gao Eagle, Gao Shark, Gao Bison, and Gao Tiger to perform the Hyakujuu Gattai (Hundred Beast Combination), forming the mighty Spirit King, Gaoking.
The "DXROBO UNIVERSE Gaoking" is designed with a standardized "Core Frame System," which not only unifies the size of toys within the same series but also incorporates a transformation and combination mechanism that allows for the swapping of certain parts. This enables Gao Lion, Gao Eagle, Gao Shark, Gao Bison, and Gao Tiger to combine into Gaoking.
Another distinctive feature of this series is its ability to link up with Sentai robots from different works. Each Sentai robot in the series utilizes the same frame and joint design, allowing for the disassembly and free interchangeability of various parts. This enables the creation of original, cross-series combinations that can only be realized through these toys!
