Bandai Spirits, a Japanese toy company, has announced a new product for its "DXROBO UNIVERSE" series of transforming and combining robot toys based on Toei's special effects series "Super Sentai." The new item, "Daizyujin," from "Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger," is scheduled for release on March 29, 2025.
Daizyujin is a giant robot formed by the combination of five machines: Tyrannosaurus, Mastodon, Triceratops, Sabertooth Tiger, and Pterodactyl. In the American "Power Rangers" adaptation, it was merely a mechanical entity powered by solar energy. However, in the original "Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger," it is a guardian deity with its own consciousness, capable of fighting independently without the Zyurangers' control and performing various miraculous phenomena. Its weapon is the "Dinosaur Sword God Horn," which descends from the heavens and can unleash the powerful finishing move "Super Legendary Lightning Cut."
The "DXROBO UNIVERSE Daizyujin" is designed with a standardized "Core Frame System," which unifies the size of toys in the same series and incorporates a transformation and combination mechanism that allows for part swapping. This enables the five machines—Tyrannosaurus, Mastodon, Triceratops, Sabertooth Tiger, and Pterodactyl—to combine into the Daizyujin. However, due to the toy's lower target age range, the Dinosaur Sword's design has been made blunt and short for safety.
Another feature of this series is its ability to link with Sentai robots from different series. Each Sentai robot uses the same frame and joint design, allowing parts to be disassembled and freely interchanged, creating original cross-series combinations that can only be achieved with the toys!
