American toy brand SUPER7's "ReAction Figures" collectible series, which primarily features carded figures, recently announced its latest product based on "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers": "Megazord (Lightning Glow)"! It is currently available for pre-order on the official SUPER7 and Hasbro Pulse websites, with a suggested retail price of US$25.
Toei's 16th "Super Sentai" series, "Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger," tells the story of "Witch Bandora" and her subordinates, who were sealed by guardian beasts on a distant planet and sought to conquer the world. They were accidentally unsealed and resolved to take revenge on humanity and destroy Earth. At this time, five sleeping ancient warriors—Tyranno Ranger, Mammoth Ranger, Tricera Ranger, Tiger Ranger, and Ptera Ranger—were awakened to form the Zyurangers and fight against the evil Witch Bandora.
"Mighty Morphin Power Rangers," adapted from "Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger" and produced by American company Saban Entertainment, aired in 1993 with some content changes. Witch Bandora was renamed "Rita Repulsa," and the five Rangers were changed from ancient warriors to teenagers with righteous hearts. Although there were slight changes in the setting for the Megazord (Daizyujin), formed by the combination of the five machines—Tyrannosaurus, Mastodon, Triceratops, Sabertooth Tiger, and Pterodactyl—it remains the fondest memory in the hearts of old-school toy collectors.
This "Megazord," reappearing in a glow-in-the-dark version, stands approximately 5.75 inches (about 14.6 cm) tall. Its body, along with the two accessories—the Power Sword and Mastodon Shield—are not only made of glow-in-the-dark material but also feature a beautiful metallic purple paint application. The eyes are rendered in red, and its glowing appearance in the dark is sure to be quite captivating! The packaging is a box, and both the "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" logo and the Megazord are interpreted with new colors. Oh no, should I buy two boxes? One for display and one for play~~!
