Bandai Candy, the Shokugan division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., today officially announced the latest product from its popular assembly model Shokugan series, "SHOKUGAN MODELING PROJECT". This new item, "Voltes V Legacy", is based on the Philippine live-action series "Voltes V: Legacy" and is scheduled for release in July 2025. The product will be available in a standard retail version and a "LET’S VOLT IN! Set" exclusive to Bandai PREMIUM BANDAI.
The protagonist machine in the series, "Voltes V", is a super robot built to combat the Boazanian Empire's giant battle machines, the "Beast Fighters". It is composed of five Volt Machines: Volt Cruiser, Volt Bomber, Volt Panzer, Volt Frigate, and Volt Lander. When the five machines arrange themselves in a V-formation and shout "LET’S VOLT IN!", they can combine into robot form, utilizing weapons such as the "Laser Sword", "Chodenji Goma (Super Electromagnetic Top)", and "Chodenji Whip (Super Electromagnetic Whip)" to unleash powerful special moves.
The "SMP Voltes V Legacy" is based on the 3DCG model used in the series, meticulously recreating the redesigned appearance for the live-action version as an assembly model. It captures the characteristic tall and slender proportions of this version, with highly detailed panel lines on the armor, conveying a strong sense of mechanical realism.
The kit allows for the completion of the five Volt Machines: Volt Cruiser, Volt Bomber, Volt Panzer, Volt Frigate, and Volt Lander, which can each be displayed and played with individually. By swapping some parts and utilizing the transformation and combination mechanism, the five machines can combine into the approximately 19 cm tall "Voltes V" or "Heavy Tank Mode"! The standard version includes the "Laser Sword" weapon, allowing for poses preparing to unleash the special move "Laser Sword V-Slash"!
The PB exclusive "LET’S VOLT IN! Set" further adds luxurious weapons and effect parts, including detail-up parts for the combined Volt Machines 1, 3, and 5, classic weapons such as the "Chodenji Whip (Super Electromagnetic Whip)", "Chodenji Goma (Super Electromagnetic Top)", "Voltes Bazooka", and "Chain Knuckle", as well as a giant "V-shaped Electromagnetic Effect Part" made with clear orange molded plastic. This can be used to recreate the "V-formation" of the machines preparing to combine and the powerful appearance pose after combination is complete!
