Published by the HOBBY Division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., the ultimate Gunpla series, 'PGU (PERFECT GRADE UNLEASHED)', which brings together the latest technological advancements, officially announced today the commercialization of its long-awaited second mobile suit, "RX-93 ν Gundam," with a release date yet to be determined.
The RX-93 ν Gundam is a custom mobile suit designed with the participation of the Earth Federation Forces' Newtype ace pilot, Amuro Ray. It confronted Char Aznable during the Second Neo Zeon War in UC 0093. This mobile suit returned to its original design philosophy of simplicity, versatility, and durability, featuring micro-thrusters placed throughout its body. It also incorporated "Psycho-Frame" technology and was equipped with "Fin Funnels" capable of all-range attacks, significantly enhancing the mobile suit's structural strength, mobility, and Amuro's Newtype abilities.
PERFECT GRADE UNLEASHED is a culmination of new technologies previously utilized in the 'GUNPLA EVOLUTION PROJECT,' encompassing articulation, transformation, ease of assembly, lighting mechanisms, and extreme precision reproduction. It explores various avenues for Gunpla evolution, incorporating a wealth of technologies without reservation. The first release in 2020, the "RX-78-2 Gundam," shattered existing perceptions of Gunpla, employing numerous new designs to present the most intricate Gunpla product in history, and utilizing a vast array of materials such as metallic molded parts, plated parts, and metal-processed trusses to achieve its multi-layered structure.
This second announced release features Amuro Ray's final mobile suit, the "RX-93 ν Gundam," which, when compared to the original "RX-78-2 Gundam," carries the significance of legacy, continuation, and evolution. Furthermore, with the existence of the METAL STRUCTURE KAITAI-SHOU-KI version as a benchmark, anticipation is at an all-time high for whether the PGU version can achieve or even surpass that level of quality!
