Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans 10th Anniversary: "MG 1/100 Gundam Barbatos Lupus" Announced for Commercialization!

To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the broadcast of "Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans," BANDAI SPIRITS Company's HOBBY Division in Japan has announced the commercialization of the protagonist mobile suit, "MG 1/100 Gundam Barbatos Lupus," for its 1/100 scale Gundam plastic model series, "MG (Master Grade)," which boasts excellent part separation, internal frame structure, and extensive articulation. The release date is yet to be determined.

ASW-G-08 Gundam Barbatos Lupus is the new form of Gundam Barbatos, refurbished by Tekkadan after the fierce battle against Gjallarhorn in Edmonton. With technical support from Teiwaz, significant internal and external adjustments were made, incorporating multiple curved armor plates to reduce impact from hits and and lighten the frame for improved mobility. For the "Alaya-Vijnana System," further analysis and adjustments were made based on past combat data to allow Mikazuki to achieve an even greater man-machine synchronization, thereby enhancing overall performance. In addition to close-combat weapons like the Sword Mace and Small Mace, 200mm cannons and rocket launchers can also be mounted on its arms.

The commercialization of "MG 1/100 Gundam Barbatos Lupus" is not surprising; its release as a successor to the common frame was already destined when its predecessor, "MG 1/100 Gundam Barbatos," was launched. However, perhaps influenced by the anime's storyline, it took six years for this opportunity to arise with the 10th anniversary. One wonders if, with its current popularity, this once-dominant mobile suit can still sell well?
