BANDAI SPIRITS Company's HOBBY Division in Japan today announced the latest model kit product from the new anime series "Mashin Creation Saga," the "Ryuo-maru," which is scheduled for release on March 29, 2025.
"Mashin Creation Saga" is a completely new work that inherits the essence and some settings of "Mashin Hero Wataru," passing the series on to the next generation. The protagonist, Wataru Hoshibe, is a fourth-grade elementary school video creator who dreams of becoming a superstar. One day, he is summoned to the alternate world "Chubukai" to become its savior. In this block-filled alternate world, reminiscent of a sandbox game, Wataru can use blocks to create various objects, including the Mashin "Ryujinmaru," which houses a dragon soul. They embark on a journey to defeat the final boss, "Enjodatsu," fighting alongside companions such as the master swordsman Mifurain and popular VTuber Maro.
The new model kit, the "Ryuo-maru," is an enhanced form of Ryujinmaru. While its head resembles the "Mashin Hero Wataru" version, its body and weapon designs are distinctly different. The kit is based on the common frame used for "Mashin Creation Saga" series products, recreating Ryuo-maru's cool armor design with new parts. The Ryuo heads on both shoulders and the Azure Dragon patterns are reproduced using gold metallic-textured parts, while the "Seiryu Sword" (Star Dragon Sword) hanging on its back is recreated with clear blue parts.
Thanks to the adoption of a common movable frame structure, it achieves an excellent range of articulation in its 3-4 head-tall proportion, allowing for the recreation of in-show battle scenes and special moves. Furthermore, with compatible pegs and joints, parts such as the head, body, limbs, and armor can be freely interchanged, allowing for mixing and matching with other "Mashin Creation Saga" series machine parts to create a unique Mashin.
