Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company HOBBY Division today announced the latest plastic model kit product from the new anime《Mashin Creation Story》, "Kouryu Maru", scheduled for release on March 29, 2025.
《Mashin Creation Story》is a completely new work that inherits the essence and some settings of《Mashin Hero Wataru》, passing the series on to the next generation. The story's protagonist, Wataru Hoshibe, is a fourth-grade elementary school video creator who dreams of becoming a superstar. One day, he is summoned to the alternate world "Chubukai" to become its savior. In this cube-filled alternate world, reminiscent of a sandbox game, Wataru can use cubes to create various objects, including the Mashin "Ryujinmaru", which houses a dragon soul. They embark on a journey to defeat the final boss "Enjodatsu", fighting alongside companions such as the master swordsman Mifurain and popular VTuber Maro.
The new plastic model kit, "Kouryu Maru", is the new partner Mashin of Tenbu Kakeru, a relative of Wataru Hoshibe, in the series. The kit is based on the common frame used for《Mashin Creation Story》series products, recreating Kouryu Maru's cool design, reminiscent of a Sengoku daimyo's armor, with new parts. The imperial dragon heads on both shoulders are reproduced using gold metallic-textured parts, while the imperial ring of the Kouryu Staff and various effects throughout the body are reproduced using clear blue parts.
Thanks to the adoption of a common movable frame structure, in addition to achieving an excellent range of articulation in its 3-4 head-tall proportion, allowing for the recreation of battle scenes and special moves from the show, parts such as the head, body, limbs, and armor can also be freely interchanged using compatible pegs and joints, allowing for mixing and matching with other《Mashin Creation Story》series machine parts to create a unique Mashin.
