Twenty-two years after the beloved 2003 remake "Freaky Friday" became a hit, the official sequel, "Freakier Friday," is finally set to arrive this summer. The first promotional poster and trailer were released earlier today.
Nisha Ganatra, director of "The High Note," helms the new installment, working from a screenplay by Jordan Weiss, showrunner of the Hulu comedy series "Dollface." The cast sees the return of original stars Lindsay Lohan, Mark Harmon, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Stephen Tobolowsky, alongside new additions Julia Butters and Sophia Hammons.

Lohan's character, Anna, now has a 14-year-old daughter named Harper. Harper, described as masculine with a sharp sense of humor, strongly disapproves of her long-single mother's impending marriage to British restaurant manager Eric and actively tries to prevent the union. Eric also has a 14-year-old daughter named Lily, who clashes with Harper. This time, Harper and Anna will swap bodies, while Lily will swap with Curtis's character, Tess. The film is slated for an August 8 release in North America.
