The popular action figure series 'S.H.Figuarts', released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, has announced that the upcoming new development, 'Lacus Clyne (Pilot Suit Ver.)', from the theatrical anime film Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM, will soon reveal a hidden mechanism. The release date is yet to be determined.
Lacus Clyne was originally the daughter of the moderate faction chairman of P.L.A.N.T, and actively served as an idol singer advocating for peace in both public and private sectors. After several encounters with Kira Yamato, she became even more determined to take action to stop the war between the Earth Alliance and P.L.A.N.T. She subsequently left P.L.A.N.T and joined Kira to form an independent force, becoming a crucial figure in ending two major wars. In C.E. 75, the setting of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM, after the war, the anti-Coordinator organization "Blue Cosmos" continued to stir up conflicts worldwide. The formerly opposing Earth Alliance and P.L.A.N.T, along with the neutral nation Orb, jointly established the world peace monitoring organization "COMPASS", with Lacus Clyne serving as its first president.
The 'S.H.Figuarts Lacus Clyne (Pilot Suit Ver.)' brings to life her pilot suit appearance from the movie, specifically when she pilots the "MDE262S Glorious Guardian" to rendezvous with Kira Yamato. The prototype images released this time are largely similar to those from last year's Tamashii Nation event, meticulously reproducing her graceful figure, the small deployable wings on her back, and featuring a rich array of articulated joints.
The official announcement also teased that Lacus possesses a mysterious hidden mechanism, and she was once again displayed alongside the "Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam" in the same pose. Perhaps Lacus's back can combine with the Glorious Guardian, which transforms into a backpack, to create an original model pose.
